Norman L. Phillips, Jr. serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Doyon, Limited. A Doyon employee for 21 years, Mr. Phillips was hired as the President/CEO in May 2008. He first joined the corporation in 1988 as an engineering geologist and later served as Natural Resource Manager from 1996 until 2008 when he became President and CEO.
Mr. Phillips received a Bachelors of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) School of Mineral Engineering in 1983.
Mr. Phillips has served on numerous boards and committees throughout his career including Chair of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce in 2005, the Alaska Workforce Board, Chair of the Fairbanks Economic and Development Corporation from 2005-2007, Chair of the Samaritan Counseling Center from 2002 to 2004, the Alaska Department of Geologic and Geophysical Survey advisory board, the Denali Commission – Transportation Advisory Committee, the University of Alaska, Fairbanks School of Mineral Engineering advisory board and President of the Baan O Yeel kon Corporation Board of Directors from 1991 to 2000.
A lifelong resident of Fairbanks, Mr. Phillips family is originally from Rampart, a village on the Yukon River. He enjoys spending time at fish camp on the Yukon River with his family, hunting and playing golf. He and his wife of over 36 years, Nancy (Hage) have raised four children and have two grandchildren.
