During Doyon, Limited’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders today, four individuals were elected to serve three-year terms on the corporation’s 13-member Board of Directors. Elected to terms ending in 2028 were Denise Newman, Jerry Isaac, Jody Potts-Joseph, and Kristi Williams.

They will join continuing board members Christopher Simon, Shirley Cleaver, Cheryl Cadzow, Walter “Wally” Carlo, Marvin Deacon, Charleen C. Fisher, Ph.D., Audrey George, Geraldine Simon, and Orie G. Williams.

Doyon expresses its deepest gratitude to outgoing board members Betty Huntington and Sonta Hamilton Roach for their years of dedicated service. Their leadership and commitment to our shareholders, employees, and fellow board members have left a lasting impact.

This year’s Annual Meeting theme, “Breaking Trail,” symbolized leadership, teamwork, and perseverance—qualities essential to both dog mushing and guiding a corporation forward. Just as a musher navigates challenges with skill and determination, Doyon’s success is built on strategic planning, adaptability, and collaboration.

In addition to board elections, the meeting agenda included a financial report on the fiscal year 2024 and the presentation of the Shareholder of the Year Awards, which recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and people.

Doyon proudly announces this year’s award recipients:

  • Hannah Paul Solomon Elder of the Year: Sam Demientieff
  • Poldine Carlo Citizen of the Year: Reverend Dr. Anna Frank
  • Poldine Carlo Citizen of the Year: Quannah Chasinghorse Potts
  • Daaga’ Community Service Award: Cesa Agnes

Doyon was honored to welcome keynote speaker Emily Edenshaw, President and CEO of the Alaska Native Heritage Center and a Doyon shareholder.

Doyon extends its appreciation to all shareholders who participated in this year’s meeting and looks forward to another year of success.
